TREND ON TRIAL: Super Sleek Locks

I am very much a fan of straight hair, mainly because any waves or curls always fall out in a matter of minutes with my hair! I am a stronger follower of hair straighteners and my GHD's are a valued and worshiped accessory in my grooming routine. I am sure I am not alone in saying this but "What did we women ever do before hair straighteners were invented?"
But straightening you hair continually is not good to maintain healthy looking hair. the better the straighteners, the better condition your hair will remain in! But how else can we ensure our hair looks sleek and healthy?
Read on for StreetSavvyBeauty's tips to giving yourself catwalk smooth hair...

Firstly- you need a good hair dryer and straighteners before you even start on purchasing hair products to tame your hair. Hair products can only do so much on their own but you need the appliances to complement them in order to achieve the best look possible!

A Rake Comb is essential to make sure gels or mousses are brushed through evenly.
Why not splurge out on the Sedu Revolution Pro Tournmaline Ionic 4000i Dryer (£130) for a luxurious blow-dry? Feel like you've had a salon-worthy treatment with this dryer that uses infra-red to dry your hair from the inside out (so saving you precious minutes- espec if you have thick hair like mine!)
For a slightly cheaper version- I highly recommend the Nicky Clarke range of hairdryers. I have had mine for at least 8years now but still is not dated in its performance!

Straighteners? I cant help but be biased towards GHD straighteners! I have had mine again for around 8years and so although are not the newest version out there on the market- they still work and protect my hair!

A great starting place to ensure super straight hair! This shampoo turns even the worst 'bad hair day' into a good day. perfect for those of us with frizz-prone hair- this will help to calm unruly hair. "Provides advanced smoothing and nourishment."

To keep your locks in tip-top condition a masque is vital every so often to give your hair that vital moisture boost it craves after continuing blow-drying and straightening your hair. This hair masque is a bestseller for 25years, known to heal heat-damaged hair and tames those unruly split ends.

B&B have an amazing Straight Range' available on its website that ensures a frizz-free style. but this blow-dry balm is a definite must when blow-drying your tresses.

A favourite of mine- this oil conditions, adds shine and also de-frizzes hair so is the perfect all rounder in maintaining this sleek look. Especially good in this relentless wet weather!!

Another oil conditioner is that by Moroccanoil themselves. Helping to restore "straw-like" hair. Only a pea-sized quantity is required rubbed into the ends of your damp hair, then blow-dry as normal! Use daily is recommended to maintain your locks.

Before finishing, add a few drops of this finishing polish to your hair. Rub between your fingers and then (evenly distributing) run through your hair from root to tip for that final gloss look.

This serum aims to eliminate those straightening irons! Apply to wet hair to ensure your hair stays straight all day long. Personally I still like to use my straighteners even after using this serum but I notice my hair does remain straighter for longer even at the end of the day!

John Frieda Frizz-Ease 3 DAY Straight Spray 100ML

An essential must if your hair does not easily or naturally remain straight. Turn curly, wavy or frizzy hair into straight and smooth hair that lasts for 3-days, working with your  hair straighteners. This is safe for those who have chemically-straightened hair.

The finishing touch! Spray evenly over your hair to hold that look! Spray close to the roots  to boost volume.
